BMD provided refit engineering for ZeXplorer, a now 129’1” vessel built by Newcastle Marine in 2013. The vessel’s length was increased by 3.7 feet, accommodating a lengthened swim platform and aft main deck seating providing more exterior space for entertaining with an open lazzarette for storing owners dive gear and other water toys as well as adjusted passarelle length ensuring easy deployment. The work was completed at Derecktor Shipyard Dania. 

BMD’s engineers also removed the pod propulsion system and installed traditional straight shafts and struts with ZF reduction gears, new foil rudders and steering gear with a lengthened skeg keel for improved directional stability. 

Our engineers negated the need for ballast water treatment, still passing ABS class intact and damage stability for this Cayman registry vessel. The gym on pilothouse deck was converted into a stateroom and we reconfigured the head for en-suite/day head for pilothouse deck salon.
